We are excited to announce Jenn's newest documentingBlues collection. Here is a collection of images she took at Teddy's Juke Joint expressing the relationship between Teddy Johnson, proprietor of Teddy's Juke Joint and Baton Rouge blues artist Larry Garner. It was a great time as Teddy pulled out old photos and Larry gave Teddy a hard time while sending him love in the same breath on the mic!
Both men are icons of the Baton Rouge Blues scene and a few of these photos will be in an exhibit "Raining in my Heart" in May, long with other local photographers also capturing images of local blues artist. Jenn is super pumped for the event! And believe us when we say more details to come!
Jenn is currently documenting brothers and sisters of the blues and their relationship with their friends, peers, blues and, often times, blood related family members. Jenn has many images of blues artist interacting, enjoying one another's music, as well, as playing together. This is the first time Jenn has take an event and followed the interactions between two subjects and creating Jenn's first event story collection to this themed series of images.
There will be mini photo books displaying the each individual story collection, as well as, the events being posted online. Who knows where this will lead, but it gotta be somethin' good! It's the Blues!
