The Jeannie Mai Experience

"As a Marketing Intern at JOP for the past 2 years, I can honestly say there's never been a dull moment. One of the best parts of working with Jenn and her creative energy is that you can always expect the unexpected and that her good karma will bring like-minded people your way. So when we got word last Wednesday that we might be photographing one of the most well-known fashion correspondents in the business, I obviously knew I was working with the right people.

After receiving a random email inquiry from a PR assistant for NBC TV fashion personality Jeannie Mai asking for promotion photos in Baton Rouge, Jenn knew that this would be a great opportunity for both Jeannie and JOP (AND this meant that my marketing skills had been paying off since she found us on Google!) Jeannie was only going to be in Baton Rouge for a few days due to her co-hosting duties (with Giuliana Rancic!) in the Miss USA pageant. A HUGE fan of her show "How Do I Look?" on the Style network, I was STOKED to be able to drive her and her assistant Kirk Nguyen in the backseat of my little black Beetle around my all too familiar Baton Rouge. Jenn and I couldn't believe how personable and genuine they were, and were more than happy to show them a local's point of view of Louisiana.

After a super fun day visiting them in their hotel room, showing them around town, and photographing Jeannie in her gorgeous designer outfits, they went above and beyond to even get 4 tickets for Interns Sarah Brown and Raelynn Roussel, Office Manager Jessica Losee, and me to attend the Miss USA pageant at the Baton Rouge River Center. We were all so grateful for the free tickets but didn't expect to waltz into the arena having FRONT ROW FLOOR SEATS! Giuliana and Thomas were on the stage less than 5 feet in front of us, and we happened to share the front row with the likes of Donald Trump, Lance Bass, Karl Malone, Sean Peyton, Rumer Willis, and Mayor Kip Holden. (We even had closer seats than Bobby Jindal's family!)

The pageant was so beautiful and it was amazing to see those gorgeous ladies so close. We couldn't help feeling like royalty knowing that we were special guests of the co-host herself! After the pageant, Jeannie humbly called us from the stage and let us push past security to take a quick picture with her It is truly amazing how everything works out in life and what a star-studded whirlwind of a week it was for JOP. Jeannie and Kirk were phenomenal people to work with and we will be keeping in touch!
