JOP Feature Portrait: Baby William
JOP loves to document moments of love with our clients, especially when they have a new addition to the family! When we asked newborn parents Carlyle and Bryant Killen to explain how their viewpoint of love had changed since the birth of their son William, this is what Carlyle said:
"Bryant and I had a really difficult time getting pregnant, and we went through quite a lot to be able to have William. Our journey was long and it was rough, but we gained strength through our faith in God. In turn, we deepened our love for each other in ways that we never imagined possible. Little did we know how much MORE LOVE was coming our way at the end of our struggle. For as long as I live, I will never forget the very moment that William was born. I will always remember Bryant leaning down and kissing and hugging me and telling me what a good job I had done; and wow, let me just say that if the Olympics had an event for giving birth, I believe I could have taken the gold! Ha! Seeing and holding our son for the very first time was like nothing else I had ever experienced in life. There he was, in the flesh, the tiny little answer to our very big prayers...our very own baby! I remember crying and saying, "Thank you, thank you, God!" But I knew then I would never have adequate words to express the gratitude that filled my heart. How could I ever thank God enough? Fast forward, some weeks later, and I still have moments where the love and gratitude overwhelm me. I let the tears flow and thank God in the best way I know how: by kissing, holding, feeding and caring for this baby God has placed in our lives.
He has given us MORE LOVE than we have ever known."
